Andrei is a New York-based photographer and filmmaker specializing in cinematography, photography, and mixed media art. A graduate of Hunter College CUNY with a BFA in Film, he has cultivated a dynamic career as a cinematographer and camera operator on numerous indie film productions, while also independently crafting a wide range of personal projects.
As a native New Yorker with German and Romanian roots, Andrei draws on his multicultural heritage to inform his artistic vision, often framing the vibrant energy of New York City as a backdrop in his work. In his work he explores themes of language, culture, and aesthetics, offering a distinctive perspective on identity and expression.
Dec 2024 – Accademia Internazionale di Significazione Poesia e Arte Contemporanea - Rome, Italy
Abstract photography piece selected for the Apollo Dionysian Award. Received 'Recognition of Merit' Diploma, and criticism in aesthetic semiotics. The artwork was exhibited at the Central National Library of Rome and published in the online Academic Exhibition of Contemporary Art.
Aug 2024 – ‘Adam n’est pas mort’ – Editura Vinea
Commissioned to create a collection of abstract photography and watercolor paintings that were used as decorative artwork for a poetry book.
